Jacob's First Note!!!

Well he had his first full day of school yesterday. He got his first note sent home too. We all know that Jacob is a real pistal ball, his teacher is aware of it too, Mrs. Hancock and I are friends. He did not get into trouble for misbehaving...just talking. He got on the red light and tried very hard to make it to green, but got to yellow. Mrs. Hancock is a wonderful person and knows Jacob outside of school, so she knows how to handle him. She also has a red head so she feels my pain!! lol
All of you who know Jacob, know how he is...I think that he has ADHD and if he has the signs, the school will test him ASAP.
I know that hundreds of kids each year get diagnosed with ADHD and if the parent is as commited as Bubba and myself, they can get better. It just worries me, what Mother wouldn't worry? I remember my nephew Robby, who is mentally retarded was put on meds that made him like a zombie...that is not what I want to do to Jacob. That is not a way for a child to have to live, but I know that I have to do something.
So my friends when you pray, say a pray for Jacob. That whatever comes to us, we can face it the right way!!

OK Mandy a question for you....How do they test them and what steps do they take??

Girl that baby will be just fine. This is just another stage he is going to go through. You will know what to do when the time comes and you will make the decision that is best for him.
Mandi will definitly be able to answer these types of questions better than anyone I know.
That little fellow is in Gods hands and he is an angel no matter what!!!!

I have to agree with Stacy, Mandi is the best person to talk to for accurate inside information. She will never know how thankful Kevin and I are for her.

As far as the zombie - I do not think it affects all children the same. Micheal nevers seems like a zombie - just a normal 15 yr old brat!

Tell Jacob that I am very proud of him and that his Aunt Michelle loves him!

AAGGH! I have left 2 long messages and both times I can't publish so the short of my opinion was in total agreement with your mom: give Jacob the gift of time and you will be amazed. His teachers may have their hands full but usually around 3rd grade maturity sets in and it levels out. That may seem like an eternity but the long term effects we don't know about from medications would be a worse fate. If talking is the worst of his problems in school right now, then that's not really a problem. He's just preparing to be an attorney or a politician!
Remember, the school system can't make you do anything you don't want to- Michelle has first hand knowledge of that.
